This set up features the same heads as Shane's recommended 'General Use' set up (Remo Coated / Hazy Ambassadors). However, I often opt for the Canopus BackBeat Dry wires, as their somewhat darker sound works well with wood snares, but also accentuates the low- to mid-range of a metal shell, rather than the highs which don't normally need any help!
