I was looking for another moderate priced snare to compliment a maple snare and a brass snare. Right out of the box it sounded great. I honestly think it would take a very well trained ear to tell the difference between this and a $500+ snare drum.
This head is a perfect single ply with built-in muffling, but not to much. The power dot adds more focus. Great head, would recommend to anyone who likes a single ply batter head.
Great little specialty product! All the claims made i have experienced on my drums. On snare drums I believe it helps dampen odd frequency snare buzz from being generated.

These have a nice traditional feel. Softer wires than Vic Firth. Similar to what I used in the sixtees.
